My most recent play through of far cry 5, my friend and I decided each region was a different historical era for our weapon and consumables uses. First was white death where we could only use bolt action rifles with no silencers and no scopes. Second was cowboys where it was only shotguns, revolvers, lever actions, and dynamite.

They both require a headshot to kill in one throw. It's possible that one does slightly more damage than the other, but since you have to aim for the head it doesn't really matter a whole lot.
